Beit Midrash in Motion: Movement, Meditation, and a Drunken Talmudic Tale

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Does a little schnapps pump up your Purim fun, or do you believe drinking drags down the holiday spirit? Explore a provocative Talmudic tale about Purim celebrations gone awry, and discover how the rabbis weigh in on this issue. We will discuss the role of alcohol in Jewish communal settings and its use as a celebration enhancer and detractor. And, try your hand (or head) at a traditional bottle dance. This workshop explores such themes through movement, meditation, and Jewish text study.
