What’s the Bible Really About? Hints from 'The Tower of Babel' Story

The Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) contains history, law, lore, poetry and more. But what is it about? We’ll look closely at one of the seemingly simple but actually very complex stories at the beginning of Genesis, the Tower of Babel. We’ll uncover its links to the Exodus story and other parts of the Bible. Focusing on the literary “tricks” the Torah uses in this story, we’ll focus on one of the Bible’s central claims about human life, and discuss what that view might have to say to Jews even in our own age.
