Biblical texts are “deliciously” terse. While it can be frustrating not to know what a character’s intentions are “supposed to be,” it can be tremendously liberating, as well. As readers, we are charged with visualizing how a character speaks, what s/he looks like, and ultimately, what is going on. Join us for a short text study, discussion, and some interpretive drawing as we explore Elkanah's response to Hannah's barrenness in the book of Shmuel.
