Food is an integral part of our lives. Food became especially important after the starvation during the Holocaust. Everyday, Shabbat and holidays had their special foods and customs. Take a journey back to Hungary to explore the traditional foods and customs of post Holocaust Hungary.

Marianna Gersch was born in Debrecen, Hungary and returned there for the first time in more than 50 years in 2011. A New Yorker since 1957, she loves to cook and bake Hungarian foods. She is currently a member of the Hungarian Hidden Children of New York and the New York Jewish Historical Society. She is a contributing writer of the book Remember Us.
