Steven Bayme serves as Director of Contemporary Jewish Life Department at AJC and its Koppelman Institute on American Jewish-Israeli Relations.  He served as a visiting professor of History at the Jewish Theological Seminary. His publications include Understanding Jewish History: Texts and Commentary, on the Jewish historical experience, and Jewish Arguments and Counter-Arguments, on contemporary Jewish life. His most recent volume is American Jewry’s Comfort Level, challenges to American Jewry.
